Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is my interior design project too small?
I do like to undertake interior design projects of different sizes. Whether you have a new bathroom to fit out, a small flat to refurbish or an entire house to re-design I would love to hear from you.
  • Where do you work?
My Cecile Belle Interior Design office is in East Dulwich, South London and my clients are mainly based in London, but I also work further afield in the UK and in France.
  • What does working with an interior designer involves?
Interior designers work in different ways. I am always happy to adapt to your personal circumstances. Whether you need me to take total control of the project or want to be fully involved is up to you. Projects usually follows the same pattern: Initial consultation: Usually lasts about an hour and is free of charge. It is best to have a few images of interiors you like and an idea of a budget ready. Stage 1: Mood board: This is a very important step to make sure we are on the same page regarding style, colour scheme and ideas. Stage 2: Design: CAD drawings for layout plans, elevations, and sections to make sure the flow and the furniture work perfectly within each room. Stage 3: Sample boards: A board that groups together the colour scheme, furniture, fabrics, tiles etc for each room. Stage 4: Implementation: whether you want to take it from there and order yourself or you’d prefer your designer to order on your behalf using some of their trade discounts.
  • How do you charge?
After our free initial consultation, you will receive a fee proposal anticipating an estimated time for each stage. My daily rate is £400 per day so you will know early on the cost for your project. This estimate is usually accurate, however, if the work takes substantially longer, potentially due to any additional tasks or changes to the brief, I will notify you beforehand, to agree additional fees based on the standard time charge. Please do not hesitate to contact me on my contact page, if you have any questions relating to a project in particular or about the way I work.
